Sid: To be honest with you, I know of no firm that offers a bona fide training program. I do know the exchanges run seminars on simulated trading techniques, but their programs are for a short duration, lack follow-through, and do not provide anyone who will be available to talk to a trader. I know of no other firm that has made this support available. We encourage the people who come to our seminars to keep coming, it's the kind of thing they can keep coming back to in order to improve their performance. |

Sid: No, we've recently instituted a $250 fee. This is a one-time charge. If a person comes to several seminars, I am happy to provide her or him with as much individual attention as is needed. But we need a commitment. I have received letters from people who have attended our seminars in the past who said that the fee was the best $250 they had spent. It either gave them the skills they needed to succeed or made them realize that floor trading wasn't for them. In some cases it prevented them from making a potentially greater, more costly, mistake. |
